Kawasaki is enhancing rider convenience with the launch of its new voice control technology across several 2025 models, including the Z900, Ninja 1000SX, and Versys 1000. Developed using Cerence voice software, this innovative system allows riders to control various functions of their motorcycles hands-free, making it easier to stay focused on the road while managing bike settings and communication.
The voice activation system can perform a wide range of tasks such as making phone calls, adjusting music volume, checking weather updates, navigating routes, and even monitoring the motorcycle's performance. With 18 different voice commands, riders can interact with the bike without needing to take their hands off the handlebars. The system is designed to be especially useful on long rides, where the ability to keep attention on the road while accessing important features is crucial.
One important note is that this feature requires an annual subscription. The license is tied to the rider rather than the bike, meaning if the motorcycle is sold within a year, the new owner would need to pay for their own subscription to access the voice control features.
However, the system isn't perfect. Kawasaki has had to fine-tune the technology to ensure it understands different languages and accents. Additionally, the voice control works best at lower speeds—specifically under 75 mph—due to the potential interference from wind noise that could hinder the system's functionality.
With this new advancement, Kawasaki is continuing to push the envelope on making the rider experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible, integrating technology that enhances both convenience and safety.
